Trade secrets are one of the most interesting areas of intellectual property law. Trade secrets are things like the formula for Coke, that makes Coca-Cola, or the batter for Kentucky Fried Chicken. Companies like trade secrets because there’s no limitation as to how long they can be protected by law. How are they protected is typically through agreements and through having a very, very strong legal department or attorneys that work for you.
